  1. What do I do if I have been in accident?

    Call our Body Shop at (619) 599-1049 and we can have your car towed, handle the insurance claim and arrange a rental car for you. We will take care of everything you need to get your vehicle repaired and back on the road.

  2. My insurance company told me to get three estimates, but I want my car repaired at Honda of El Cajon. Do I have to get three estimates?

    No. You never have to get three estimates. Bring or tow your vehicle to Honda of El Cajon Body Shop and we will pay towing charges and do all the dealing with your insurance company.

  3. What if my insurance company writes the estimate and misses some of the damage?

    No problem. This is very common since most estimates that are written are preliminary estimates only. There is only one way to repair your vehicle and that is the right way. We will always contact your insurance company if additional repairs are needed.

  4. What if my insurance company pressures me to go to one of their "preferred" shops?

    It is illegal under California law for an insurance company to steer you to one of their shops. These shops are "preferred" not for their work quality, but because they offer parts and labor discounts to your particular insurance company. You have the legal right to have your vehicle repaired at the shop of your choice.

  5. What if my insurance company tells me that if I don't go to one of their shops that the repair will take longer, they won't warranty the work and I will have to pay more than my deductible to have my car repaired?

    Our body shop staff works with all insurance companies to get your appraiser to our shop quickly and each of our customers is our top priority. Honda of El Cajon warranties all of our parts, materials and workmanship and you will never have to pay more out-of-pocket expenses to have the same repairs performed here as you would at one of their shops. We guarantee it.

  6. What are remanufactured parts?

    A remanufactured part is simply an OEM/factory part taken off another vehicle, repaired or rebuilt, and then placed on a vehicle needing repairs. Typically, remanufactured parts are bumper covers, headlamps, and alloy wheels.

    These parts are a cost-effective way of repairing your vehicle, without having to use brand new OEM/factory parts, especially if you are on a budget. The repair facility will inspect these parts and ensure they are in good, acceptable condition.

  7. What are LKQ parts?

    LKQ stands for Like Kind & Quality. Basically, this is a used part. It has been purchased from a salvage yard and is in good, acceptable condition for the purpose of being used on another vehicle.

    When Honda of El Cajon Collision Center receives the LKQ part, will we inspect the part for damage to determine if it is good and acceptable condition. In the event that the part is determined to be unacceptable brand new OEM/factory parts will be used.

    If you are paying for the repairs on your own and without an insurance company, LKQ parts may be a good cost-effective alternative for your repair situation.

  8. What are aftermarket parts?

    This type of part is one that is made by a manufacturer other than the one that makes your vehicle. This is usually an inexpensive alternative for someone who needs to cut the cost of their repairs by using aftermarket parts, instead of brand new OEM/factory parts.

    Some insurance companies will and do use these parts. Here at Honda of El Cajon Collision Center we do our best to price match any Aftermarket Parts so New OEM parts can be used.
